Notice For Ehler’s Danlos Syndrone (EDS) Patients

Due to the lack of specialists coupled with high demand of patients seeking providers who diagnose EDS, Dr. Sharobeem and his care team of APC’s are seeing EDS patients on a one-time consult basis ONLY. While Dr. Sharobeem and his care team care deeply for, and want to provide guidance to the EDS community, our practice is primarily in Rheumatology and time in which to see EDS consults is limited.

During these one-time consults. Dr. Sharobeem and his care team will do their best to confirm a diagnosis of EDS as well as provide guidance for patients to manage their disease through a network of different specialists, lifestyle changes, community support and more. However, EDS consults will not be scheduled for any kind of follow-up with Dr Sharobeem and his team.

We are not currently accepting new EDS patients but will reassess at a later date.

Diseases We Do Not Treat

We do not treat Fibromyalgia, Chronic Pain Syndrome, Chronic Fatigue, Lyme Disease, and Spinal Degenerative Disc Disease. These non-inflammatory conditions require a multi-disciplinary approach and are best managed by a team of specialists comprised of Pain Management Physicians, Physical Therapists, and Primary Care Physicians. In cases where we recommend Pain Management after evaluation or receive your referral for one of these diseases, we will refer you to our trusted partners, experts in Pain Management.

If your PCP refers you to Rheumatology for one of these non-inflammatory conditions, we will forward your review to our Pain Management partners, who will contact you to schedule. Pain Management will be able to evaluate patients within one week, whereas the wait to be evaluated by Rheumatology may be 4+ months. Suppose our Pain Management partners evaluate you and feel strongly that Rheumatology evaluation is necessary. In that case, they will expedite your referral with our practice so we can see you in a shorter timeframe.
